Real Estate prices in Costa Rica have been on the rise continuously since the end of the 1990's. Land rates for beach property in the center of the country have reached $200,000 per acre, and there is still a demand. In the northern and southern areas of the Pacific coast, prices are still lower than in the coastal center due to state development projects.
In 2006, the highway from Samara north will be built, opening up the northern area to tourism and expansion. This expansion will have a positive effect on land prices and will bring on new tourism and business opportunities
